GC Report – 2018-06-11

Grounds committee has noted the following performance by BrightView

  1. The mulching work performed on the property was inconsistent. There were areas where mounds of mulch were thrown down in clumps and remained that way. This was brought to Russ’s attention on more than one occasion.
  2. Grass cutting was notably not cut short enough for the first cutting of this year until present.
  3. Ruts resulted in grass cutting throughout the community due to cuttings done too soon after rain fall and or cutting not done on a diagonal as was previously discussed the last 3 years.
  4. Several drain have leaves gathered around them. This was specifically pointed out to Russ on at least 2 recent occasions. Russ assured me that the workmen take care of clearing those areas when they are there cutting the grass and not all areas have been cleaned up as of the last inspection from approximately 2 weeks ago.
  5. The recent tree planting on the corner of Billberry and Woodberry Meadow Drive were not planted 15 feet apart as was discussed with Andy. The plantings were approximately 11 feed apart.
  6. We are repeatedly complaining to BV about the same things year after year, as it seems that BV supervision of the workmen is truly lacking.

GC notes the following areas in need of maintenance/repair as deliverables.

  1. Sidewalks need repair in the Manor, which is believed to be scheduled on the calendar already.
  2. Since many of the homeowners in the Manor have overgrown trees on their front lawns and have complained to the GC – the GC is working with these residents by way of putting together a tree pruning programs for them with the goal of assisting them to save money by cost advantage by an increased number of services needed.

The GC strongly recommends that new relationships are forged with new contractors. The service promised by BV does not compare with the service performed.

On more than one occasion, residents have contacted Russ directly for various requests. This was discussed with Russ, and the conversation concluded that he should direct all request from residents directly to the GC as is the due process.

Goals for GC for 2018

  1. Continue to access the work performance by BV on a more frequent basis.
  2. To recruit a GC member in each section of the community that will report back to the GC chair weekly.
  3. Forge new relationships with other contractors.
  4. Continue to access and report back to the board the community’s need for repairs and maintenance.
  5. Continue to input ideas for areas in need of beautification.
